🚐 New Transportation Program Coming to Aurora 

Sheltering Hope is excited to announce that a new community transportation service is preparing to launch in Aurora — with rides expected to become available as early as October 19, 2026.

This pilot program is designed to support residents who need reliable transportation to work and medical appointments. For many individuals, transportation is the missing link between stability and opportunity. Sheltering Hope is committed to helping bridge that gap.

💛 Drivers Are Currently Being Trained

Behind the scenes, volunteer drivers from our community are completing training, background checks, and vehicle inspections to ensure the program launches safely and smoothly. These volunteers will use their personal vehicles to provide:

• Rides to work shifts

• Transportation to medical and dental appointments

• Safe return trips back home

This flexible model allows drivers to accept rides based on their availability, making it possible for more community members to participate in serving their neighbors.

🛠 Program Preparation Underway

To ensure safety and reliability, Sheltering Hope is completing:

• Background checks for all volunteer drivers

• Vehicle inspections

• Training on communication, safety, and ride procedures

Once these steps are complete, the program will begin offering rides to Aurora residents who need transportation support.
