It's Official!

In the fall of 2025, Sheltering Hope was officially recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, marking an important milestone in our mission to serve the Aurora community. We are also preparing for our upcoming Resource Fair, where we look forward to gaining meaningful insights and strengthening our partnerships. Additional details will be shared soon.

March 2025

In March 2025, Sheltering Hope hosted a Community Resource Fair that brought together service providers from across Aurora and Lawrence County. Through conversations with attendees, we gained clear insight into the community’s most pressing needs, including transportation, housing, food, clothing, legal documents, counseling, mentorship, and continuing education. These findings now guide our efforts as we develop programs that meet people where they are and support their path toward stability.

Job Prep Jumpstart
Sept 2025

Our first “Sheltering Hope” Job Jump Start event welcomed several participants who were eager to take the next step toward employment. Attendees had the opportunity to practice mock interviews and explore job options available right here in Aurora. We are grateful to Walmart and AFB for partnering with us and supporting this effort to empower our community.

Sheltering Hope Fundraiser, Nov. 2025

Sheltering Hope hosted our first successful fundraiser, bringing together local business owners and community members for an evening of connection and purpose. Guests enjoyed a beautifully catered dinner by Alice Irene’s while learning about our vision for the future. The event marked an important milestone in building awareness, support, and momentum for our mission.
